I Love Glossier!! (Milky Jelly Cleanser + Balm Dotcom)
I'm definitely not a "skincare specialist," so I think I feel a little odd writing this, but I love reading others blog posts or watching YouTube videos about products that they have used. Also, I am writing this out of sheer love for the brand itself.
Glossier is such a real brand, with real men and women who create skincare (and makeup) so that your skin looks its best all while knowing achieving clear skin is a completely imperfect journey. That you don't have to wear makeup, because your own skin is beautiful! I'm sure that Glossier has a team of Photoshop experts, but somehow all of the pictures look raw, down to earth, and like they're your friend from back home.
Glossier's website says,
"Above all, we believe that you give life to products-products don’t breathe life into you."
And I am a total advocate for women radiating their natural skin and feeling confident, so I love that motto!
(I'm not against makeup in the least, I just feel it's important for women to feel comfortable in their own skin before relying on makeup to make them feel beautiful, am I right???).

I wanted to try these products myself because I was tired of seeing all the mixed reviews and just not having tried them yet. Now I am all for a routine, and using different serums and what-not to have my skin looking it's best, but there's just something about having the one-all-go-to product; which I felt like I haven't found as far as cleansers go. Trying the Milky Jelly Cleanser was on my cleanser radar for a long time, but the price and my will to try new things were limiting me from buying it...However, I kept reading skincare blog posts, and glancing through pictures on my Instagram of women who had tried this cleanser and absolutely loved it: it was simple but effective.

Maybe it was because of the hype-packaging and sick logo design that was the reason behind my SEVERE EXCITEMENT for opening this package. There has to be some type of endorphin here, I think package-opening is my drug. But anyway, once I stared at the box for about five minutes, I finally opened it and started laughing, because the inside of the box was so dang cute (and I think at that point I was running on a little unhinged fervor).
I was locked and loaded once I knew that it came with stickers...
The package also came with the little pick bubble wrap cosmetic bag.

Here's a ~dramatic~ picture of me wearing the Cherry Balm Dotcom on my lips and cheeks: it accents my skin, making it look like my skin which I love...! (skin first, makeup second).
Cherry Balm Dotcom $12:
Its a very thick salve, and I would like to buy the Clear Dotcom in the future, because I could see it being great for dry elbows and cuticles (like it advertises!). It's great for applying as a lip mask at night as well. Or to keep in your pocket to apply throughout the day. I tried it as a cheek tint and it works really well and adds a glow--except for that it is sticky, and doesn't ever feel fully "dry" on my cheeks (although it's a salve so what do you expect...) but other than that I love it, and will definitely buy again.
Milky Jelly Cleanser $18:
I'm about to drop the lowdown about this product.

I honestly was so testy and unsure about this cleanser due to how many mixed reviews it has gotten. When I first tried to pump the product out---I'm not kidding---it took me about five minutes to figure out. It has a handy feature that locks the pump, in case of traveling, so the product won't spew out everywhere.
Once I finally figured out how to use it (lol), it had a thick, gel consistency. I read a couple reviews saying it was TOO thick--that they couldn't even wash it off very well, which totally isn't true. One pump will cover your entire face, and once you massage it into your face it dissolves a little bit, making it easy to wash off.
I have combination/oily skin, and this product felt like I was getting the oil off without feeling too stripped. I've been using this cleanser for almost a month now, and I can't live without it! I'm serious. My face has not shown as much redness, or broken out (as much as it has with my previous cleansers). It cleanses really well, and isn't harsh. After using it my face feels so soft and refreshed; and the packaging is so easy to travel with! Not having product everywhere is so important and it's lightweight!
I will admit, it usually doesn't take off all of my makeup. It will, if I rub off all my mascara with it (it doesn't make your eyes water, because it has some form of contact solution in it to keep that from happening). It gets rid of any foundation, concealer, eyeshadow, etc--it just takes some time. To avoid harshness, I usually use Simple Cleansing Micellar Water to get rid of any makeup, then wash my face with this cleanser, followed by Trader Joe's Enrich Moisturizer (I'm on my 4th bottle). I also recently got MaryKay's TimeWise Night Solution, from my wonderful friend Jenny, which has helped my skin considerably! I notice a difference in the morning when I use this serum.
Another thing that I think is a positive side to this cleanser is about 30 seconds after I dry my face from using this cleanser, it's almost as if I used a type of peel, because the dead skin (kinda gross) from my face almost peels off. I simply massage my face and rinse my face again, and it's even more smooth.
