WELCOME
Hey there! My name is Courtney, and I am currently living in Kentucky, attending NKU to receive my Bachelors in Media Informatics. My season of life right now is painting, living out Jesus' plan for my life, being pursued by my wonderful significant-other Michael, and cleaning out my closet every two weeks to make room for more mom jeans (a real struggle).
I decided to write a blog about being a "turtleneck girl." Being a turtleneck girl means that designer brands don't really matter to you. Clothing, style, FASHION, is an art. It's about the shape (Think Audrey Hepburn! or French Parisian street style! or your mammaw's closet!) I feel like there aren't many designer turtleneck brands, or designers that have invested in the turtleneck market. I guess it's symbolic for being it's own thing. Turtlenecks are a big closet staple for me.
They present so much simplicity, class, all the while being comfortable and warm. I grew up homeschooled, which was an incredible blessing and a whole post in and of itself, but often my middle school style got a bad rep for wearing candy-corn leggings, horse dresses, and turtlenecks. Over the years, I quit caring, and ravished in my armfuls of comfort and accepted my own style as maybe something not a lot of other people wanted to wear.
Wear what you like and be confident in it. For me, that is (washed) Goodwill finds that often resemble an androgynous female living in the 1950's with a lean towards warmer, golden tones, who usually cuts the end-seam of her jeans.
Turtlenecks are not going to be all this blog is about, I wanted to create a blog to harness some key elements I enjoy: painting, style, antiques (antique style), photography, advertising my incredibly creative friends' businesses! Along with those will come posts about family and friends that I adore! Inspirational messages or devotionals! Creating a space for prayer requests! Maybe some funny stories--or even videos! Or patterns? I love patterns! Food (probably sushi and coffee)! Sunsets and sunrises! Something interesting one of my professors in class would say! All of it!

The picture at the beginning of this post and the one above were both taken by my good friend, Samuel Greenhill, of Michael and I. Samuel is such a bright spirit, and an amazing photographer. You can check out his photography and what he stands for here .
